[Resolved] replyTo property ignored when sending emails

Update: Today – 20th August – it appears that Microsoft has been able to fix the issue and restored the service. The replyTo property is now again recognized as expected by the recipient of the email.

Beginning in August, the replyTo property set by email sending applications such as Elementor Submissions, Contact Form 7, and WooCommerce is not recognized once the email is submitted to Microsoft Graph. When the e-mail reaches the destination mailbox, the reply-to field is missing from the email headers. The error is most likely due to Microsoft updating their systems. I have raised a support ticket and also commented on a forum post regarding this issue.

Several customers have contacted WPO365 support, reporting that emails sent through a form are lacking the crucial reply-to header. This becomes problematic when the expectation is to reply to the email address of the user who sent the form, rather than the default sending account.

If this also concerns you, then please raise a support ticket with Microsoft, clearly stating that the replyTo property that is set when submitting an email message to Microsoft Graph is not not recognized once the email is submitted to Microsoft Graph. When the e-mail reaches the destination mailbox, the reply-to field is missing from the email headers. Also please make sure to add your support for the forum post regarding this issue by adding a comment or click the link “I have the same question”.
